Aleda

Teacher

Aleda has always had a passion for sports and fitness. She tried her first Modo Yoga class in 2012 and has been hooked on it ever since. She has a true passion for traveling and is a High School Phys. Ed. Teacher who loves coaching and connecting with her students and peers. She attended Nipissing University where she played Varsity Volleyball for four years, then headed to the land down under to attain her Teacher’s Certificate. It is her goal to bring Yoga to the high school community in Simcoe County and to inspire others to bring a little bit more peace into their world.
Aleda started her yoga journey at Modo Barrie in 2012. She always wanted to do her yoga training, but wasn’t sure when it would be possible in her busy life. In August 2013, she was called by a good friend and fellow Modo teacher who said that there was an opportunity to go to the training in Montreal that September. With only days to make her decision, she jumped in with both feet and has never looked back. The Modo training was transformational for Aleda as a teacher, but more importantly as an individual. She has learned to live more simply, not take herself too seriously, and try to be in the moment whenever possible. Since her Modo training she has taken many other Yoga courses related to Anxiety and Depression, as well as her Yin training.
Aleda lives in the area with her hubby and 2 boys, Griff & Cullen. When time allows, her concept of relaxation would be drinking tea while reading, SUP (stand up paddle boarding) and hiking with her family!
