Cat’s life has been forever changed by the physical and emotional practice of yoga as well as the greater community (Sangha) that comes with it. She believes that yoga is for EVERY-body no matter what the end goal is.
When she first came to her mat Cat did so purely as a way to stretch out from running long distances on the trails and as a method of cross-training. She found strength and flexibility, however, the greatest impact has been how it has taught her to calm her mind by practicing mediation and breath daily. She soon realized that yoga was more about a balance of life. It was and is a beautiful way of living that was quite quickly opening her heart to more compassion, authenticity and a deeper connection to herself and to others.
When Cat practiced Modo Yoga for the first time in 2011, she knew she had found her forever home and that one day she would share this practice with others as a teacher. The stars all aligned to finally make this dream come true in 2016 when Cat attended Level 1 Modo Yoga training in Kelowna B.C. and then Modo Flow training in Montreal in 2018. The Barrie Modo Yoga space and community are now like her second home and she loves sharing the Modo practice and pillars with all of the students that come through the doors.
Outside of the yoga studio, you will find Cat spending time helping others as a certified Reiki practitioner and certified Mindfulness coach, or with her two amazing daughters, friends, noshing on simple Vegan meals, or on the trails getting as close to Mother Nature as possible (trees and dragonflies are her favourite things!)
