Finding Balance Through Movement and Breath

Mary Anne’s journey into yoga began as a way to quiet her busy mind and reconnect with her body. With a background in dance and figure skating, she developed a lifelong fascination with the art of movement. This natural curiosity, paired with a desire to balance body and mind, led her to yoga in 2012—and she was instantly hooked.

In 2015, Mary Anne completed 350 hours of Vinyasa teacher training, deepening her practice and dedication. After six years of consistent practice, she took the leap to become a certified Modo Yoga instructor, completing her training amidst the stunning landscapes of Nicaragua in 2018.

For Mary Anne, stepping onto her mat feels like an expressive dance, a seamless blend of breath and movement rooted in her dance background. She strives to guide her students to experience that same sense of freedom and joy. Her practice is continually inspired by the dedication and energy of her students, and she feels profoundly grateful to be part of the welcoming Modo Yoga community.

Mary Anne lives by the words of Paulo Coelho: “Never allow waiting to become a habit. Live your dreams and take risks. Life is happening now.” She invites her students to embrace every moment, both on and off the mat, as an opportunity for growth, connection, and self-discovery.
