Barbara Dos Santos (she/her)

Barb is passionate about building community, and you can feel that immediately in her natural warmth and ease. It is her passion for community that brought her to Yoga. Originally from Brazil, she immigrated to Newfoundland and during her time there  found strength and love in the St. John’s Modo community. From this connection she was able to deepen her practice, completing the first ever Modo Level 1 online teacher training through the Be Accessible scholarship.  Nourished by the teachings and the gift of teaching itself, she then completed her Modo Flow training in October 2021 . Barb moved to Toronto last summer and quickly found a home at MYBW with ease, aligning with the values, love and strength this practice and community offers.

Barb has experienced first hand the life changing impact of a regular yoga practice, and is committed to inviting others on that journey in their own way. As a teacher Barb meets people where they are, holding space that supports them connecting each pose to their unique bodies. Her calm voice and caring cues leave students feeling tended to and nourished, and she isn’t shy with her groovy playlists and long savasana.

When she isn’t in the practice room you can find Barb reading, hiking, trying anything new or pouring into her community work at Toronto’s 519 community centre.
