I began playing sports at a very young age, but with sports comes injuries. I would endure a reoccurring or new injury every year and eventually had to get two knee surgeries on both my knees to help prevent further injuries. I found yoga a month after my surgery and it helped me to gain back my flexibility, mobility, and strength but the practice also taught me how to listen and understand my body and how to reconnect with it. Yoga not only taught me how to ground myself but to take what I learn in my practice and apply it to my daily life. My personal practice has allowed me to dive deeper into finding my own truth, to be honest with myself but most importantly it taught me how to love myself again.
