Amy began her yoga journey in her 20’s after being diagnosed with melanoma. The cancer was successfully removed, and when she recovered from surgery on her leg, she wanted to become more active and healthy. She took up running, and after noticing muscles tightening up, started yoga as a way to stretch out. When Modo Yoga Brampton opened its doors in 2011, she joined the studio and found that there was much more to yoga than just stretching. Yoga allowed her to connect her mind and body and build both physical and mental strength. As a full time piano teacher, Amy developed a desire to use her teaching skills to share her yoga practice with others. In 2021, she completed her Modo Yoga Teacher Training and began sharing the gift of yoga with others. Since then she has continued her studies into Yin and Restorative Yoga, as well as Kids Yoga. Amy is continually grateful to give back to the Modo Yoga Community.
