Hanna

Student / Teacher

Why do you love the Modo community?

Modo is my home. The other teachers are your family, the students are your friends, and the hot rooms are where we all come together. It’s just a very welcoming and empowering environment because of all the above.

Why do you teach yoga?

It’s a powerful experience on many levels. I have the opportunity to observe students evolve their practice over time. I love providing a space where students can arrive and feel their full range of expression and strength. It’s also a creative outlet for me as a teacher to create sequencing in my mind and watch it land within the bodies of our students. It’s an honor watching students leave a potent class in an elevated state.

What yoga certifications do you have?

E-RYT500, TSYT, RCYT, Yin, Restorative, SUP Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Trauma Sensitive, and Yoga Nidra.

If you were an animal, what would it be?

A Leopard.

You have one day completely to yourself in Columbus.  What do you do?

Grab a coffee at The Parable then take a walk around different pockets of Columbus. Stopping in shops and making small talk with good people. Meet a friend at Portia’s Cafe for lunch. Take a hot yummy yoga class at Modo or another type of movement at a local studio or with Columbus Acro Play. Then a walk out in nature on the edges of Columbus. End the day with meeting a friend for amazing tacos somewhere and attend a fun event like live music, art show, or a comedy show!

What’s your favorite yoga pose and why?

Revolved Bent-Knee Seated Forward Bend. The pose is one of the most beneficial stretches for our spine. It removes tension in the lower spine and hips while elongating our hamstrings. I do this pose every single day.

You can only eat at one Columbus restaurant for the rest of your life.  What is it?

Portia’s Cafe.
