Meredith

Student / Modo Teacher

Why do you love the Modo community?

There is no other place like it! The community is so open, welcoming, and supportive. The space, the teachers, and the students allow you to feel at home and be yourself every day.

Why do you teach yoga?

Through yoga, I have learned so much about myself, my mind, and my body. Yoga is a space where I can be myself with no expectations. I teach yoga to hold space for others to explore the mind and body experience that has benefitted me in so many ways.

What yoga certifications do you have?

Modo Level 1 – 500 YTT and Modo Calm – 50 YTT

If you were an animal, what would it be?

An otter – I know that probably sounds silly but they are so fun and playful! They love to be surrounded by others and truly enjoy each other’s company. They also have sharp teeth and claws and know how to use them when needed.

You have one day completely to yourself in Columbus.  What do you do?

I would start my morning bright and early with a short HIIT class and then a class in the hot room (of course!). I would take a long walk with my dog, grab breakfast or lunch at Katalina’s, and then some sort of outdoor activity with friends (kayaking, biking, or even lounging in the park). I would probably try to fit in a short afternoon nap (I LOVE naps). I would finish the day with happy hour drinks/appetizers with friends on a patio somewhere. Preferably somewhere with a great craft beer or wine selection. Last but not least I would squeeze in a little bit of reading on my front porch.

What’s your favorite yoga pose and why?

Dancer’s Pose – As you will hear me say in my classes: It does all the things all at once! It’s a heart and shoulder opener, backbend, and balancing pose. Everyone looks beautiful doing it no matter what variation and I truly believe the more do you it the harder it becomes!

You can only eat at one Columbus restaurant for the rest of your life.  What is it?

Marcella’s or Katalina’s, depending on my mood!
