We opened our doors over 20 years ago with the dream of building a friendly gathering place for yogis looking to sweat it out. Our unassuming home in the heart of Toronto’s Danforth neighbourhood is among the very first and longest running Modo studios in the world–time sure flies when you’re having fun! We hope you’ll stop by so we can show you exactly what/who makes our studio so special.
Rock stars without attitude
We are honoured to be the home studio for some of Modo’s best loved and most experienced teachers. Our teaching faculty is intentionally small and focused. We hand-select and train new teachers who approach their roles with intellect and heart. Our teachers’ teachers may be among the best but they each lead with grace, kindness, and authenticity. No rock star attitudes here, thank you.
Friendly vibrant and diverse
Modo Danforth is very much a community studio at heart. Our student body is comprised of many practitioners who have been with us for decades but we pride ourselves on welcoming newcomers to yoga with warmth and even goofy enthusiasm. Our studio has been the birthplace of lifelong friendships and the setting for its share of meet cutes. We actively seek to create and hold safer spaces for all yogis and appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow with you.
Modo Yoga’s 6 Pillars are the foundation of who we are.
As a community, we take care of ourselves, create inclusive spaces, nurture the Earth, support local groups, keep a beginner’s mind, and seek out peace. With these 6 Pillars as our guide, Modo Yoga hopes to change the world.
A healthy practice leads to healthy choices for the mind, body, and spirit.
Yoga is for everyone! All abilities, bodies, and backgrounds are welcome here.
The care, respect, and protection of our planet is tied to our own well-being.
We’re stronger together, and we reach out and support one another.
To be anything, we must learn. Stay humble, curious, and passionate.
We cultivate harmony—inside and worldwide.
