Aurella Nur

Teacher

Aurella’s introduction to yoga began in 2014 when a friend who wanted company for class suggested she try an intro offer at a local studio. Enticed by the novelty of a hot room and the physical benefits of strength/flexibility, she soon discovered another element of yoga. Mindfulness.

Aurella found it confronting to have no distraction, to be unable to escape the mind while holding an asana. Her initial reaction was impatience and restlessness. There was nothing to focus on but yourself, your breath, and your body. She leaned into the challenge of staying present, of finding peace in stillness and fell in love with the cathartic effect of mindful movement. Her class intentions are often centered around an effort to calm a busy mind, a quest for moments of peace and connection in a fast-paced world.

Aurella competed as an amateur boxer for 5 years; she loves weight training and handstands. Through all other physical explorations, yoga has been a constant companion. She took her first Modo training in 2016, Modo Flow training in 2017 and an Awakening Foundation training in 2021. She’s been teaching since 2016 and shares a joy of movement and mindfulness with the Modo community.
