Natalie

Teacher / Musician

What do you love about teaching?

I love weaving mindfulness and presence into my classes and celebrating in breath and movement while our unique bodies & selves all practice in a space together. Most recently, I’ve been fixated on the ways to heal the nervous system through yoga & meditation. That said, one student called me “a velvet hammer” after a Flow class once and I’ll always remember it and smile. I value the balance of hard work and then, deep rest.

What yoga trainings have you completed?

Hatha/Vinyasa Teacher Training in India, Modo Level 1 in Nicaragua, Modo Flow, Yin, and Yoga Nidra for Transformational Sleep.

What Modo Pillar do you connect with the most?

Be Healthy. After some years of over-stretching myself and trying to fit my body into poses that caused me harm/injury, I learned that it’s much healthier to fit the pose into my body. I am all about props, modifications, rest and listening to what my body needs in a practice over what my ego or mind wants to do. I always encourage those in my class to do the same.

What do you do besides teaching yoga?

I am a musician most of the time, currently playing live & recording music under the name “Daughter Of The Moon”. I am also an organic farmer, a creative cook, a mushroom forager & a traveller.

What’s your favourite after yoga treat?

GF Epicurean takes the cake!
