When Candice started yoga in 2013, she was visiting a chiropractor about 2 to 3 times a week. It was her family doctor who insisted that she give yoga a try to help with the pain she was experiencing. She tends to gravitate toward fast-paced workouts, however, she finally decided to take her doctor’s advice and give yoga a try. She had no idea how much it was going to change her. Since she began her practice, she has not gone back to a chiropractor. Yoga has taught her how to be present in all aspects of her life through balance, and by knowing her balance, she is mindful when things are out of sync. It has taught her how to breathe; a simple concept, but very powerful in practice. Yoga continues to teach her how to manage stress, and to let go when the time is right — it gives her perspective. When she heard the Modo Teacher Training was coming to Toronto in July 2022, she knew right away that she had to enroll. As a teacher, her goal is to give back to the community the same clarity and guidance this practice has given her.
