Modo Yoga Expands into South Carolina with New Studio Coming to Kiawah Island, Charleston

Our 16th territory awarded in 2025 marks a powerful milestone for the global Modo Yoga community.

We’re excited to announce that Modo Yoga International has officially expanded into South Carolina, awarding our newest territory with the upcoming opening of Modo Yoga Kiawah Island, located near Charleston.

This expansion reflects the continued momentum of the Modo Yoga brand as demand grows for sustainable, community-driven studios offering the proven benefits of infrared hot yoga. Each new territory represents not only growth, but also the arrival of leaders who are deeply aligned with our values of connection, inclusivity, and conscious living.

Meet the Owners: Kara Amedori DePaola & Nick Eber

Modo Yoga Kiawah Island will be led by Kara Amedori DePaola and Nick Eber, whose combined backgrounds in advertising, business leadership, and wellness create a strong foundation for community impact.

“With 15 years in New York City advertising, I’m equipped with the ‘baptism by fire’ training needed to survive and thrive in something as variable as running a business,” shares Kara Amedori DePaola. “I’ve been practicing yoga for 20 years and I’m addicted to the infrared heat. Now we want to bring the healing aspects of this practice to our local community with Modo Yoga Kiawah Island.”

Kara’s work as a Creative Director in healthcare advertising has honed her ability to translate complex science into meaningful, accessible education—an approach she brings directly to sharing the life-changing benefits of Modo Yoga.

Nick brings extensive leadership experience, having managed large teams and high-performing business units.

“I have previously led a $15 million business unit that included Fortune 500 companies, and I have managed a team of 50+ people,” says Nick Eber. “Our combined experience in advertising, marketing, and leadership is ripe for developing a strong partnership to bring Modo Yoga Kiawah Island to our local community.”

Why Kiawah Island, Charleston?

The Kiawah, Seabrook, and Johns Island areas are experiencing rapid growth and are home to a vibrant, active population, making them an ideal location for a Modo Yoga studio.

“This is a community we’re proud to call home,” says Eber. “With the influx of new residents, we hope to inspire personal growth and well-being through a yoga studio that facilitates connection and supports longevity.”

Modo Yoga Kiawah Island is designed to be more than a place to sweat—it’s a space to connect, heal, and grow.

“We want everyone who enters to feel welcome, respected, and dedicated to their practice,” says Amedori DePaola. “It’s not the doing of yoga—it’s the practice of yoga. All we need to do is stay on our own mat and stay in the hot room.”

Nick also sees an opportunity to support specific local groups, including the region’s thriving golf community.

“There are 13 golf courses within a 20-mile radius,” he explains. “Modo Yoga can help golfers improve longevity, flexibility, and mental clarity—making the game more enjoyable for years to come.”

A Growing Global Network

As the 16th territory awarded in 2025, Modo Yoga Kiawah Island represents the strength of a global network rooted in shared values.

“When I travel, I always look for a good coffee shop, a local bookstore, and a local hot yoga studio,” says Amedori DePaola. “Our goal is for Modo Yoga Kiawah Island to be that landing place—whether someone is local or just passing through.”

With a guiding vision centered on belonging, engagement, and sustainable well-being, Modo Yoga Kiawah Island is set to become a cornerstone of the South Carolina wellness community.

If Kara and Nick’s journey resonates with you, and you’re curious about owning a yoga studio, leading a wellness-driven business, or bringing infrared hot yoga to your community—we’d love to connect.
