My personal yoga practice began nearly 20 years ago as an avenue for cross-training from elite sport, but quickly became an outlet for personal recovery; both physically and emotionally. I teach Yoga because Yoga has taught me so much – it’s a way for me to give back. I attended my first Yoga Teacher Training in 2009 and have been educating myself through workshops, retreats and personal practice ever since.
I have been an athlete my whole life, and began as an elite artistic gymnast, finishing my career at the 1992 Olympic Trials. I then transitioned into Triathlon and became a top 10 age group finisher in 2 half-Ironman races. Now in my 40’s, I stay active with long distance road cycling, skiing, and dirt biking.
Through sport I developed a keen interest in sports injury management and had a rewarding 12-year career as a Registered Massage Therapist. For the last 10 years I’ve built a successful home-based wellness business specializing in optimal nutrition and intermittent fasting.
Yoga is my passion project where I can apply my knowledge and experience in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, rehabilitation, mindfulness, meditation and holistic wellness. Modo has become my space for creativity, community and connection. Kelowna has been my home for the last 10 years where I share my life with my rescue dog Rudy and my sweet heart Kristian. You’ll likely find us out playing in our pool, hiking Knox, cycling big hills, skiing Big White, boating on Lake Okanagan, or drinking coffee at Bean Scene.
