She/Her
Anita Vasan understood the transformative power of breath and found yoga while searching for peace and calm amongst the hustle and bustle of NYC life while working in the theater industry.
Having experienced deep rooted stress and anxiety through-out her life, she discovered that the simple practice of being “present” provided immediate relief. She started spending more time in silent meditation and invested in the exploration of breath through the yogic practices of Pranayama, Meditation, and Asana. She also developed a thirst for the wisdom from ancient texts like the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita from which yoga originated.
Growing up in a family of doctors, healing was an innate part of her upbringing. Diving deeper into the practice of yoga, the connection to her Indian roots also deepened. She has travelled back to India and around the world to study with inspirational teachers like Yogi Charu and Srivasta Ramaswami. Anita also trained at the Sivananda Ashram and Pure Yoga. She started her teaching journey with Modo Yoga 6 years ago and is blown away every day by the incredible community of teachers and students.
It is through the study of yoga that Anita has experienced a deeply powerful shift and her live is largely motivated by sharing her deep passion for this powerful practice.
