She/Her

Beth Imai grew up in a small ski-resort town nestled in the mountains of Southern Idaho. Her love of music and sunny weather brought her back to her birthplace of Los Angeles in 2006, where she’s lived a colorful life in the arts of both entertainment and healing.

At a young age, dubbed a “busy child” by her parents, Beth’s reputation holds up. She considers herself to be a multi-media artist; she’s a singer / guitarist, a writer and is pretty handy with a pencil. In 2011, her drive to never stop moving led her to a yoga practice, where she quickly thrived in the physicality, but was surprised by the profound mental and emotional impact her asanas had on her life. Movement was the only thing she found to keep anxiety at bay. After years of consistent practice she decided to learn how share her experience with students.

In 2019, Beth’s live-to-learn spirit guided her down the path of the healing arts; she completed her certification to become a bodyworker, specializing in deep tissue massage therapy and myofascial release. She has a dedicated client base of whom she is proud to empower in self-healing techniques. Devouring anatomy books is more than a pastime for her; she’s now training to teach students at her beloved bodywork institute, IPSB in Santa Monica.

When she’s not teaching at Modo Yoga, you can find her sitting on a sunny patio somewhere sipping a kombucha, studying Japanese or making cardboard hotels for her 4 cats.
