Movement has always been a part of Carly’s life. In childhood she couldn’t sit still so her parents put her dance classes at the age of 4 years old. After years of dance she found yoga to be a practice that fulfilled a yearning she had to move in a sustainable way. Little did she know it would cure her insomnia and teach her more than she ever expected. Like many, she was destined to follow the dancer to instructor pipeline and started teaching in 2018 to share not only the benefits of the movement but the benefits of the stillness. Being the daughter of a drummer, a singer, (and many years of tap dance) led Carly to embrace the rhythm that is found in yoga. The inhale and exhale create the downbeat of the music and the movement creates the dance. Carly leads classes that are rhythmic and challenging but balance both effort and ease, discomfort and presence, and strength and release. When not teaching you can find her at a national park, on a dance floor, or dreaming about a beach.
