One day in December 2015, Jodi finally said yes to her sister who had been begging her for years to go with her to a hot yoga class. After class her only words to her were, “that just changed my life”. Jodi had no idea then how it would come to alter her life profoundly. She found Modo Yoga La Brea in 2016 and from day one it felt like home. Practicing nearly daily since then, the La Brea studio walls have held for her joy, tears, love, loss, deep friendships, chosen family, growth, expansion, and the peaceful feeling of simply being.
Jodi never thought she would be a yoga teacher but cut to 2023 and she found herself in Nicaragua completing her 200-hour teacher training. Her own teachers have gifted her a foundation and a framework to quiet her mind, live deliberately and to be her authentic self. They did then and continue to now, inspire her enough-ness, and a slow and steady, playful way of living. Always a student first, Jodi hopes to give back to the community and to hold space for a landing, where others can be curious about stillness in movement and the power of breath…a nestling into oneself.
