Sylvie Bérard, Ac
Graduate of College de Rosemont’s acupuncture program, Sylvie Bérard is a member of the Order of Acupuncturists of Quebec as an acupuncturist, and a member of Mon Réseau Plus, the Association of Specialized Massage Therapists of Quebec inc., as both a massage therapist and naturotherapist. Her journey into holistic medicine started in 1999 when moving to California, leaving behind a museum-consultant career (she holds a M.A. in museology) to pursue her passion: the study of the human body and medicinal plants. Her studies then began in the San Francisco Bay Area with degrees in massage therapy and traditional herbalism. As part of her degree program in acupuncture, she completed a clinical internship in the Family Births Unit at LaSalle hospital in Montreal, which featured the use of acupuncture during childbirth and postpartum.
As an acupuncturist, Sylvie frequently treats patients for a variety of conditions, such as pregnancy-related issues, pain and injuries, fatigue, stress and anxiety, allergies, fatigue, menopause, PMS and menstrual irregularities.
Sylvie offers acupuncture treatments that can also be combined with massage therapy, and each session is tailored to individual needs and specific condition. She has over fourteen years of experience with massage therapy in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, and she approaches her work using various techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger points therapy, Tuina (Asian bodywork), reflexology and PNF stretching.
