A Warming, Anti-Inflammatory Hug in a Mug
At Modo Yoga, we’re big fans of simple rituals that bring balance—on and off the mat. This Golden Milk Latte (aka turmeric latte) is one of our favourites: a creamy, grounding blend of turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger that warms you from the inside out.
Whether you’re sipping it after practice, winding down for the evening, or sharing a cup with someone you love, this drink is an easy way to Be Healthy, Be Peace, and Be Community—one soothing sip at a time.

Golden Milk Latte
Serves 1-2
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened milk of choice (almond, oat, or coconut milk work beautifully)
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger (or freshly grated, if you prefer)
- A pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
- 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee (optional, for richness)
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract (optional but lovely)
Instructions
- Warm the milk: In a small saucepan, gently heat your milk over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling.
- Add the spices: Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Keep whisking until everything is smooth and the milk turns a vibrant golden yellow.
- Add the good stuff: Stir in honey (or maple syrup), coconut oil, and vanilla extract if using.
- Blend for froth (optional): For that café-style creaminess, pour into a blender and blend for 15–20 seconds.
- Pour and enjoy: Serve warm, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, and take a deep breath before your first sip.
Optional Add-Ins
- A pinch of cardamom for a chai-like twist
- 1 scoop collagen or plant-based protein for post-practice nourishment
- A splash of espresso for a “golden milk latte with a kick”
💛 Why you’ll love it:
- Anti-inflammatory: Turmeric’s curcumin supports joint health and reduces inflammation.
- Grounding & calming: Warm spices help balance the nervous system after practice.
- Mindful ritual: Making it slowly is a meditation in itself.
