I always struggled with anxiety and although I consistently worked out, I couldn’t find relief from everyday stressors. Once I did my first class at Modo Yoga, I realized the aspect that I was missing: mindfulness. Since day 1, I was hooked.

When I did the Modo Yoga 200 hr Certification in 2024, it was primarily to deepen my own practice. However, the support from the teachers at Modo Yoga San Diego gave me the extra boost to give teaching a try. It was challenging and nerve wracking, but it has become a part of my life in a way that I didn’t expect, but am so grateful for. I am finding my voice, building confidence, and learning that my personal yoga practice deeply influences my teaching.

In my hot yoga classes, I want to give others the chance to reflect on their own yoga practice and consider what the poses do for their mind and body. Just as I once thought, it can be easy to think of the “right” way to do a pose and practice, but I hope to encourage others to build a personal relationship with their yoga practice through the unification of breath and movement, while exploring the benefits of the hot room.
