Geoff was born and raised in St. John’s. He has been involved in sports such as hockey, soccer, frisbee, running and volleyball his whole life.
During his second year in University, he was peer pressured by a couple of friends to try out his first ever yoga class at MYSJ. Geoff’s journey started in our opening year (2012) on the Intro Month pass. He admits he wasn’t sold after the first few classes, but after a full month he knew he had found something special. Geoff then joined as a Member and then as Energy Exchange Ambassador. He soon started managing the Energy Exchange Program and working/managing the front desk, then to assisting with co-managing the studio. In 2016, Geoff completed the Modo Level One teacher training during the summer in beautiful Kelowna, BC, and later that year graduated with a Bachelor in Commerce from Memorial University. Geoff dove into roles of Teacher (to current) and Studio Manager (until April 2021) and continues to be a pillar in our community.
In Geoff’s classes, he will encourage you to do what your body needs each day, and will motivate you to challenge your comfort zone, as he believes this is where shifts happen. Known for his sense of humour, but don’t worry – you don’t have to get his jokes 😉
When Geoff isn’t at the studio you can find him around town drinking coffee, eating pizza/tacos, trying out new jokes with his friends, or all three at once!
