Our aim is to create a supportive, grounding space for every student in every class. We believe a peaceful studio environment—an oasis from the busyness of daily life—can be found in the details. Please take a moment to review our studio guidelines, created to support mindful habits and ensure everyone enjoys this shared space.
Community At Our Core
Our goal is to foster a community rooted in trust, peace, and respect. To support this, we commit to practicing nonviolence (Ahimsa) in all communications and interactions within the studio. Yoga is for everyone, and we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind—whether based on size, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, ability, or any other aspect of identity.
Pre-Registration
Yoga classes: Booking opens 7 days in advance.
Pilates classes: Booking opens at 9:00am, 7 days before each class.
You can book online via the Modo Yoga App or our website.
We reserve 5 walk-in spaces for every hot room class, and 2 spaces for non-heated classes, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the class is full or you didn’t get off the waitlist, you can arrive early when the studio opens 30 minutes before class to try for a walk-in spot.
While walk-ins are always welcome, pre-registration is recommended to secure your spot.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your class booking online or via the Modo Yoga App up to 2 hours before class without any penalty. Please note that we do not accept cancellations by phone or email.
Cancellations or no-shows made within the 2-hour window will incur fees:
Unlimited Members: No-Show fee will increase to $15 effective January 2, 2026. Late Cancellation fee is $10.
Credit Holders: A missed or late-cancelled reservation will continue to result in the loss of a class credit.
Workshops and series: cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice to receive account credit for the value of the workshop or series class. Less than 24 hours’ notice, or a no-show, will result in forfeiture of the fee with no credit issued.
In the case of a rare emergency or unforeseen circumstance that prevents attendance, please contact us by phone or email instead of submitting a late cancellation so we can update your booking and avoid fees.
For additional information, please reference our Studio Polices and Terms & Conditions page.
Waitlist
If a class is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist. Spots often open—especially on the day of class—so please monitor your waitlist position in the Modo Yoga App.
When someone cancels, the first person on the waitlist is automatically added to the class. If you have email notifications enabled, you’ll receive an email when this happens. This continues until 2 hours before class, when the waitlist closes.
If you’re moved into the class, you are responsible for attending or cancelling, just like any other booking. If you know you can’t make it, please remove yourself from the waitlist.
After the waitlist voids (2 hours before class), any remaining spots become available to everyone. To book during this window, simply remove yourself from the waitlist and book directly into the class.
We also reserve 5 walk-in spots for every hot room class, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the class is full and you were not moved off the waitlist, you can arrive early—the studio opens 30 minutes before class—to try for a walk-in space.
Late Arrivals
To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, students are not permitted to enter class after it has begun. Please make every effort to arrive 5–10 minutes early, as the doors may be locked up to 3 minutes before class starts.
Students who are not present 5 minutes before class may lose their reserved spot to others waiting at the studio. To avoid losing your spot or incurring a no-show penalty, please arrive on time and ready to begin.
Honour the Class Duration
Our class schedule indicates the duration of each class so you can plan which classes best fit your time. We ask that you commit to attending the full duration of the class as scheduled.
At the end of class, the instructor will indicate when it is over. Please exit quietly to avoid disturbing others.
Weather Cancellation Policy
If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, notifications are made at least 1 hour before class. When this happens, all pre-registered participants will receive an email—contact us if you need to opt in. The cancelled class will also be marked on our website and the Modo Yoga App, and we post updates in our Instagram and Facebook stories. Follow us on social media to stay informed of live updates.
Practice Rooms
Yoga = Silent Practice Space
For all yoga classes, please respect our silence is golden policy. Keep all conversations— even whispers—outside the hot room. Before and after class are important moments for students to settle in, meditate, decompress, and integrate their practice. Please move mindfully and quietly throughout the space.
Pilates = Whisper Space
To support a grounded and peaceful environment, our Hot Pilates room is whisper-only before and after class. Soft, brief conversations are welcome; please save longer non-whisper chats for outside the room so the space can remain a place to disconnect and reset.
Thank you for helping us create a peaceful, supportive environment for all.
Clutter-Free Practice Space
Please leave all personal belongings in the change rooms. Only your water bottle, yoga mat, practice towel, and any props you plan to use in class are permitted in the practice room. For safety reasons, no other items are to be brought into the studio.
Phone & Tech-Free Practice Space
Our practice rooms are free from distractions and technology. Please leave your phone, pager, or any electronic device in the change room so the practice room remains phone- and tech-free. If you wear a smartwatch, put it on silent with notifications turned off.
Thank you for understanding that we do not make individual exceptions.
Feeling Unwell?
If you’re feeling sick or experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, sore throat, or congestion, please rest at home and return when you’re well and symptom-free. This helps keep our community safe and supports your own recovery.
Scent-Free Space
Please refrain from wearing scented products to class and avoid using any scented products, including body sprays, creams, deodorants, and aerosol products, in the change rooms to respect individuals with severe scent allergies. Thank you for your consideration.
Mat Placement
Please be mindful of how and where you quietly place your mat so there is enough space for everyone. Read these tips for how to set up your mat according to class style.
All classes listed with Modo in the class name, mats are set up to face the mirrors with 4 rows:
1 – along the back cedar wall/windows
2 – between the back pillars
3 – behind the front pillars
4 – in front along the mirrors
For all non-Modo style classes, the room is divided between the two middle pillars with 3 rows on either side of the room facing toward the centre of the room [a total of 6 rows]:
1 – along the side grey walls facing the centre
2 – between the pillars facing the centre
3 – just behind the centre pillars facing the centre—please leave space where the instructor has their mat set up between the two middle room pillars.
Please set up close to other mats to make room for all and to minimize requests from instructors to move your mat. Your kindness and support are appreciated, especially during busier classes.
Change Room Etiquette
To ensure a respectful and safe environment for all, we ask that you refrain from taking selfies or using your phone in the change rooms. This policy helps us maintain privacy and comfort for everyone. You may use your phone in our lobby community area or ideally, outside of the studio.
Common Area Etiquette
We strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all. To respect everyone’s journey, we ask that personal discussions be kept for private settings. Let’s support each other by fostering a peaceful atmosphere.
