“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” ― Rumi
Sarah has been practicing yoga since 2008. She remembers her first class as if it were yesterday. Her love story began with a strong, hot practice in one of the original studios in Calgary. She felt the flow and was hooked! For years vinyasa yoga complemented her involvement in competitive soccer and swimming. Although after a few injuries, she was very grateful to find the luxurious practice of yin and the benefits provided by the slower practice. Her passion for meditation and yoga has since taken her on an adventure which allowed her to develop her teaching in Spain and Ecuador, and gain further training in India and Australia.
Yoga often begins with the physical practice then shifts into something much more profound. For many of us, time on our mat is as much physical therapy as it is a place for an emotional reset. Sarah is honoured to share this beautiful union of body, breath and mind through her yin classes. Her hope is to guide from a place of personal experience and authenticity to provide a nurturing space for others embarking on their yoga journey.
St John’s is a new home for Sarah as she is continuing her studies at Memorial University. Outside of the studio, she enjoys reading, connecting with friends, running on the trails and enjoying the local breweries.
