My why for teaching: I teach yoga because the community of Modo Yoga has made such a difference in my own life, and I love being able to share that with others. Whether it’s finding strength, a moment of clarity, a newfound sense of confidence, slowing down, or just taking a deep breath, yoga has a way of giving you exactly what you need. Watching students grow in their practice and feel more at home in their bodies is what keeps me coming back. Plus, where else is it socially acceptable to nap in a room full of people?

What I love about Modo Yoga: The sense of community is unlike anything else—there’s a shared energy in the room that is both grounding and uplifting. There’s no pressure to be anything other than yourself. It’s a place where people can move, breathe, and connect, not just with their bodies but with a larger community that values growth and mindfulness. No matter what kind of day I’m having, I always leave feeling better (and sweatier).

If I could give one piece of advice to new students, it would be: Be patient with yourself. Yoga isn’t about being perfect—it’s about listening to your body and showing up, exactly as you are. Some days will feel amazing, and some will feel challenging, but every practice is valuable, and that’s why you come to your mat. Also, child’s pose is available at any time!

Beyond the mat, I enjoy: Spending as much time outdoors as possible—hiking the East Coast Trail, camping, blueberry picking, skiing, skating, and swimming. I ‘dies’ for Sushi, Bubble Baths, and my boxer dog, Ziggy. And I can’t forget hanging with my Modo pals, who always introduce me to new things like Hot Pilates, Craig’s Cookies, bouldering, painting, and pickleball!
