Reopening

We will reopen our doors on SEPTEMBER 1ST for MEMBERS ONLY (auto renewing and year unlimited pass holders) and to everyone on Monday Sept 14th!

While you were away, we have made some nice changes and updates to the studio that we think you’re going to love. We have a really lovely and safe experience planned and feel very confident that, when we are sure the time is right, we will be able to welcome you back to the studio for a seamless and easy time that will have all of the comfort, quality, and welcoming vibes you have grown to love and expect at MYS.

We will be in touch as we get closer with more specific information about new protocols and how the flow of the studio will be but for now we will answer a few FAQ’s to get you excited!

Will we have to wear masks during practice?
We will ask everyone to wear a mask upon entering the studio and until they are properly distanced on their mat. Once on your mat you can remove your mask or you can choose to keep it on. Once class is done please put your mask back on prior to gathering your things and leaving the room.
For more information about this policy please click HERE to read the Huron-Perth health unit’s policies and guidelines about wearing face coverings.

Will the full schedule be available along with all class styles?
We will have a slow start with 2 classes per day at the studio (along with daily classes by the river and Virtually). At first we will keep the non heated studio closed. We will start with Modo classes and Yin/Restorative classes and build from there. As we add classes we will work towards bringing Barre classes back as well as our non heated classes!

I have heard there is higher risk when exercising indoors because of ventilation, will that be a problem?
Although nothing is guaranteed, we have always had a superior ventilation system in our studio with a fresh air exchange. This is key to safe and proper ventilation. During the shutdown we had our HVAC system serviced and upgraded the filters for even more effectiveness. What this means is that when we turn on the “fan” it will suck the air out of the room to the outside and will bring in fresh air from outside to replace it, as opposed to a regular fan which will just blow the current air around the room.
This fresh air exchange is not only happening inside of the hot room, but all over the studio space.

Will the change rooms be available?
The change rooms will be available but will temporarily be limited to 1 person at a time. The showers will temporarily be closed. We recommend that for the time being you come ready to practice and use the washroom before arriving to reduce contact while in the studio common areas.

Will the capacity in the hot room be reduced?
Yes. We will have 15 spots available per class and spots will be clearly marked to ensure proper distancing.

Will rental mats and towels be available? What about blocks and straps to borrow?
No, we will temporarily be removing rental mats and towels as well as all props from the studio. Please bring your own, and if you need to purchase we will have some available for sale.

Will we still be able to purchase retail items?
Absolutely! We will have mats, mat towels, blocks, straps, eye pillows, water bottles, and some SWEET MYS swag available for purchase in studio. If you would like to look you can do so while wearing your mask and after sanitizing your hands. If you would like to purchase something the teacher or EE will have your purchase ready for you after class and you can use tap or apple pay to purchase.
