Modo Yoga Co-Founder Jess Robertson created the six pillars. She also co-created Modo Yoga in 2004, along with Ted Grand and Natalia Brajak.
She works constantly to rejuvenate them by tapping into the incredible Modo Yoga team and in the greater community.
In addition to thousands of hours in yoga study, Jess’ academic studies include anatomy, physiology, Buddhism and anthropology.
Jess’ days involve supporting the Modo studio owners, teaching at the Modo Yoga level 1 and advanced teacher trainings, writing about yoga in the modern world and playing music.
She also enjoys a good yoga shvitz as much as anyone can!
Jess spent six years working in the non-profit sector before choosing yoga-in-community as a different way to serve the natural world.
She knows that, in order to do good in a lasting way, you have to feel good.
This realization was undoubtedly influenced by growing up on a farm with her hippie parents in a community guided by her primary teacher, Baba Hari Das.
Jess lives in an eco-village with her partner and two children.
In addition to Modo Yoga, her passion projects include eating chocolate, climbing trees and admiring all forms of creativity.
