Welcoming the Learning Process — In the Ashtanga Yoga method, it is natural for the practice to feel challenging at first. Meeting difficulty is part of the teaching itself. Rather than trying to make the practice easier, the method invites us to cultivate a steady and resilient mind. By learning to meet challenges with patience and self-compassion, we develop a valuable quality that extends far beyond the mat. It is completely normal to feel somewhat overwhelmed during your early Ashtanga practices. With time, consistency, and care, the practice gradually unfolds, deepens, and becomes more fluid.
The Ashtanga program is now officially launched and available at all times at Modo Yoga Vaudreuil. Possibility to practice Ashtanga 6 days a week : four mysore-style practices (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday AM), 2 led 1/2 Primary Series (Monday and Friday PM), one led full primary series (Friday AM) and one led 1/4 Series practice (Saturday) . It’s accessible to all, including pregnant moms that have been practicing yoga before. We don’t recommend the Ashtanga classes in the hot room for pregnant moms that never practiced hot yoga before.
Mysore style is the traditional method of practicing Ashtanga Yoga, named after Mysore, India, where this lineage began. In this approach, students learn and practice the sequence at their own pace, with individual guidance and one-on-one attention from the teacher.
What makes our Mysore program unique is the balance we hold between structure and freedom, tradition and personal exploration.
We stay rooted in the classical Ashtanga method—breath, bandha, drishti, and alignment—while encouraging each student to cultivate awareness, intelligence, and curiosity within the practice.
This is not a rigid or intimidating space. It is a warm, focused, and respectful room. Here, students and teachers meet as a community of equals—each person committed to their own growth, while supporting and respecting one another. We practice early in the morning, building discipline, resilience, and inner strength that carries far beyond the mat.
I personally guide each student, offering adjustments, technical insight, and mentorship to help you develop a deep, steady, and sustainable practice—whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner.
Over time, this practice becomes a powerful tool for self-study, transformation, and connection to Self. You will be welcomed here—challenged, supported, and inspired to grow.
It is through the daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga that we draw it into ourselves, understand it, and become proficient in its methods, thereby reaping its wide range of benefits. For this to be accomplished, a slow, dedicated and patient approach is best. Mysore practices are Monday to Thursday, 6am to 10am.

Meet Isabelle, teacher of the Ashtanga Program. Isabelle has been practicing Ashtanga yoga for over 10 years and has been part of Modo’s teachers team for more than a year now. Isabelle is a yoga student, a teacher and Professional Massage Therapist. Through a daily physical and philosophical practice she shares her knowledge with passion. Her multiple trainings in India, California and Canada allow her to have a deepened approach to teaching.
