After falling in love with the practice and philosophy of yoga, Amanda completed her 300-hour certification in Ecuador, and was the recipient of Modo’s BE PEACE scholarship. In addition to her yoga teaching pursuits, Amanda is currently completing her master’s degree, which documents the impacts of mining activities on Indigenous lives and livelihoods. Her research is heavily influenced by the Indigenous environmental justice movement in Canada.Amanda also loves to travel. She has hiked Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, bungee jumped over the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, and walked along Scotland’s clifftops. Her academic background has further allowed her to work in Indigenous communities in Panama and northern Canada.
Her intent as a yoga instructor is to bring inner peace one class at a time to make the world a better and kinder place to live in.
