Monique realized very early the great joys of sharing and being part of something larger then oneself. Through a lifetime dedication to athletics, travel and the arts, her pursuit of the balance between body and mind led her to practice yoga as a runner 15 years ago. Monique discovered Modo in 2012. The enhanced focus and challenge of practicing in the heat propelled her deeper into her practice. After spending time volunteering at the studio before working at the front desk, it was a natural progression for Monique to complete her 500 hour Modo certification in the Fall of 2014. She has been teaching and contributing to the Modo community ever since. People are her passion. Always ready to share her energy and curiosity for yoga and its benefits, Monique believes that yoga has a place in everyone’s lives, regardless of age or ability. Some of her greatest joys are guiding seniors in their practice , introducing yoga to new students or simply sharing the benefits of yoga. Continuously exploring new related avenues, Monique recently completed her certification as a Mindful Meditation Guide . Her vision as summarized by her favorite quote; “ Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
