What is Modo Yoga?

All Modo Yoga classes are built on the foundation of our Modo series – a dynamic system of postures and breathing exercises specifically designed to be practiced in the heat. Modo classes are accessible to all, from beginners to advanced students. A typical Modo class will have around 40 postures. Each class is intended to open, strengthen and relax the entire body.

Classes are heated to around 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit with about 45-54% humidity. External weather conditions and the number of students in the class can affect the temperature inside the room. If you’ve never practiced hot yoga before, it might feel quite hot during your first class, over time, your body will acclimate to the heat. Students are encouraged to move through each class at their own pace, taking rest and water when needed. 

Yes! Modo Yoga offers a full-body workout that combines strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Our sequences are designed to get your heart pumping while helping you build muscle and improve your overall fitness.

You’re not alone in feeling this way! Most students express this concern. Our answer? That’s exactly why you should try yoga. Flexibility is not a requirement to practice yoga—it’s something you develop over time. Modo Yoga is designed for all bodies and all levels, so whether you’re touching your toes or miles away from them, you’ll be able to enjoy and benefit from the practice.

Wear something that is easy to move in, feels comfortable and is appropriate for the shared space. You will probably sweat a lot, so be mindful of fabrics. Breathable materials that are designed for fitness and will dry quickly are best. We ask that you wear workout clothes that stay in place when moving. Shorts or leggings, a workout t-shirt, or tank top are all great options.

You’ll need a yoga mat, a mat towel, and water for class. We have filtered water available at the studio so BYOB (bring your own bottle)! Yoga mats, mat towels, and shower towels are also available to rent for $3 per item if you don’t have your own. If it’s your first time to the studio, your rentals are on us! We also recommend brining a change of clothes for after class, did we mention you’ll sweat a lot?

Classes are 60 minutes long. We ask that all students stay for the full class duration so please check the schedule to see what works for you!

Doors will open 15 minutes before the first class of the day. After that, you are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes before each class. After class, you may use the facilities to shower and change, but we ask that you make an effort to head out soon after practice so we have space to clean the facilities and avoid too much traffic in our common areas. 

You can register for in-studio classes on our website or through our app, Modo Yoga (iPhone & Android). Registration opens 7 days in advance.

We ask that you arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for class. While we understand that life happens, latecomers will not be permitted to enter a class once it has started. This is to protect a safe, peaceful, and positive experience for all students in class. If you’re running late, give us a call and we’ll see if we can switch your class registration to a later time.

That depends on your schedule and where you fall on the waitlist! We will release the waitlist 5 minutes before class time in the order of registration. Remember, even if you are on the top of the waitlist, you are not guaranteed a spot by showing up at the studio!
