Michelle Karkic

Teacher

Michelle attributes much of her desire to delve into her yoga practice and pursue becoming a teacher to her years of ballet training.  Having had to connect to the body at very young age, it was refreshing to start a practice which was rooted in not only connecting to your body, but also your breath, mind and self.

Integrating her training from Kripalu, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Yoga Therapy, Michelle works to create classes that inspire students to explore these aspects in an intuitive, relevant, invigorating and fun environment.  For Michelle, practicing yoga is all about connecting to oneself both physically and mentally.  She believes that yoga and your practice is constantly evolving along with all other aspects of your life.  In the same way that it is sometimes essential to alter your pace of life due to circumstances beyond your control, for example when we get sick and must slow down, it is also important to adapt your yoga practice to meet these different paces.  Sometimes a more active, vinyasa flow style is called for, and at other times we need a more restful, restorative practice.

Michelle believes that by connecting to your own rhythm and it’s cycles it is possible to achieve and maintain balance and health. Michelle is grateful to have been instilled with a deep desire to help people lead happier and healthier lives and values any opportunity she receives to do so.
