Reformer Pilates: What Is It and How Does It Benefit Your Body?
Unlike the type of Pilates most people know about, Reformer Pilates is an exercise executed using a Pilates Reformer machine and equipment. The Pilates reformer has a frame with a bed on wheels used to move a platform back and forth with pullies, straps and tension for resistance.
The reformer machine is an excellent addition to a movement regime because it offers vast variety and complexity. You can exercise while lying down, standing, sitting, and even upside down.
This type of exercise helps promote strength, flexibility, and balance as it involves pushing, pulling, and resistance from the springs of the reformer machine. Assistance from a reformer to guide helps you in controlling your body’s posture through coordinated movements.
Other Reformer Pilates Benefits:
Improves strength in your thighs, glutes, core, and back
Helps you focus
Enhances coordination
Improves body alignment
Lowers blood pressure
Great for your cardiovascular health
Ease lower back pain
