Hi there! My name is Jill, I am honored to be part of the teaching community here at Modo Yoga Kelowna.
I joined the Modo (then Moksha) community when a studio opened in Calgary, AB in 2009. At this point practicing yoga not only became my passion, but a passion that I wanted to share with others.
In January of 2012 I took the Moksha Yoga Teacher Training in Brazil ~ this is where it all started. I have since continued my education studying Yoga Therapy with Susie Hatley, Restorative Yoga with Judith Lassiter, Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn, PowerFlow with Pam Radar, continued Flow training with Kylie Sutton, and most recently a 100hr teacher training with Nicki Doane (Maya Yoga).
I did have a hiatus from teaching beginning in 2017 as I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After a three year battle to get back on my feet, I’m here, and stronger than before. The suffering that comes with such a diagnosis was and will always be one of my greatest teachers. Please know that when I stand before you in the hot room I am standing with you, with great compassion and understanding.
Each class I walk into knowing that it has the capacity to be a transformational journey for each individual; the simple fact that I have the opportunity to help facilitate such an experience is an honour. So, thank you for landing on your mat and trusting me to guide you through YOUR yoga experience.
