Emily

Yoga Advisor

Yoga has been a very important part of Emily’s life for the last 11 years. It has helped her to be healthy, balanced, focused and to view life as a wonderful gift to be celebrated.

In 2006, after her first year of University studies, she decided to immerse herself in a month-long Kripalu Yoga Teacher training at the Kripalu Centre for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts. She has used this training as a life tool in a myriad of ways – as a yoga teacher, as a student, as a musician, as a volleyball coach, as a university teaching assistant, as a friend, as a sister and as a daughter.

Emily is a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University and she has a Masters degree in Sustainability Studies from Trent University. She is currently a fifth year PhD candidate at York University in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science. Her area of research is sport sociology and her dissertation explores the meanings and experiences of ‘care’ in youth competitive sports.

She has been practicing Modo Yoga for almost 8 years. She finds it to be a wonderful exploration of all the life enriching benefits of yoga. As the Yoga Advisor at Modo Yoga Maple, she feels honoured to be able to share, guide and inspire in any way she can to make this world a better place to live.

As the Yoga Advisor, Emily is your go to girl if you have any questions about memberships or packages, if you are interested in knowing more about our events and workshops at the studio and also if you would like to provide any feedback about our studio, teachers and staff. Feel free to email her anytime as she is looking forward to connecting with you soon!
