FAQ

What is Modo Yoga community all about?

Modo Yoga is a community of independent hot yoga studios, guided by our 6 Pillars, united by our love for yoga, and dedicated to creating a more sustainable world. With over 70 locations across North America, Europe and Australia – every studio is a place for all. We welcome all bodies and all abilities, whether you are a beginner or an experienced student.

What is Modo Yoga?

All Modo Yoga classes are built on the foundation of our Modo series – a dynamic system of postures and breathing exercises specifically designed to be practiced in the heat. Modo classes are accessible to all, from beginners to advanced students. A typical Modo class will have around 40 postures. Each class is intended to open, strengthen and relax the entire body.

How Do I Cancel My Membership?

We're always sad to see you go. You can cancel at any time with 30 days notice, once the initial 4 month commitment has ended. Simply go to our PURCHASE CLASSES page, and SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM to find the cancelation request form. All our Terms & Conditions and cancelation forms are there.

How hot is Modo Yoga?

When in-studio we heat the practice space up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit with about 40% humidity. Want your yoga hot? Take our classes outside, it'll be hot on your patio, balcony, etc. Depending on weather conditions it will probably be really humid. Even if you do your practice from the comfort of your air conditioned house, you'll still get a great workout! Best part is, if you need to modify a pose, go slower, or move at your own pace, taking rest and water when needed, that's cool, too.

Is Modo yoga a cardio workout?

Yup, it sure is!

I'm the least flexible person in the entire world...

We've definitely heard that before! Being the least flexible person in the entire world is the best reason to try a Modo Yoga class! But really, don’t worry if you can't touch your toes or balance on one foot – flexibility will come with time. You don’t have to be flexible to try your first class.

What should I wear?

Wear something that you feel comfortable in that is easy to move around in. You will probably sweat, so lightweight, breathable materials that will absorb sweat and dry quickly are best. Shorts or leggings, a tee-shirt or a tank top are all great options.

What do I need for class?

You'll need a yoga mat and water for class. You may want a mat towel if you're practicing outside.

How long are Modo Yoga classes?

Modo Yoga classes are 60 minutes long. We have a variety of classes in our virtual studio, so please check the schedule to see what works for you!

I'm running late for class...

Stuff happens – we totally get it! Click the zoom link emailed to you before class, and join in. OR you can wait until after the class has completed and we'll send you a recording of class. The link will to each class is valid for 24 hours, giving you an opportunity to take your practice as it fits with your daily schedule.

What are some of the benefits of yoga?

Yoga builds strength and flexibility. It also makes us more aware of our breath, which ultimately helps to relax and calm the body and mind. People who practice regularly often notice that they are happier, have better focus, and are more able to handle the stresses of everyday life.
